Summer Update
Hello everyone! I hope your summers have been pleasant and full of creativity.
Allyson and I (Katie) have been hard at work planning out the Opus schedule for this coming semester. We hope you are as excited as we are! Here are some new things that you can look forward to:
1. Logo contest! Tired of this old logo? So are we. That is why we are looking for someone to design a new logo for Opus. You don’t even need to be an Opus veteran to participate. If you are artistically talented and interested in the contest, please contact Allyson or myself for more information (opus@hope.edu; allyson.hoffman@hope.edu; katherine.sauer@hope.edu). We can tell you what Opus is about and answer any other questions you have. The deadline for this contest is Saturday, September 28, and there will be a prize in addition to the pride of knowing that your work will be used on publicity material, our online accounts, and maybe even…
2. T-shirts! We want to get t-shirts this year. How cool would it be to wear your love of Opus right on your sleeve? (Bad pun, I know.) Though the goal is to display our new logo on the t-shirts, the color and price are still to be determined. Stay tuned, folks.
3. Twice-weekly meetings! During the evaluation period, we want to keep our minds and ideas fresh so we decided to split the meetings into two shorter meetings per week. Hopefully this also allows more of you to come since conflicts on our usual meeting day (Thursday) may not also affect the other meeting day (tentatively, Monday).
Lastly, if you want to help promote Opus at the activities fair on Monday, August 26, let us know! Or, just show up and find the Opus table. Put this date in your calendar now; it’ll be here before you know it!
This is going to be a great issue! We are looking forward to seeing some familiar and new faces this semester!
